About this software

YappyNotes is a desktop sticky-notes application for Ubuntu, Windows and macOS. Each note runs as its own window, stays where you place it, and automatically saves as you type.

Notes are stored locally in a SQLite database, with no account or cloud synchronization required. The application keeps your notes available after restarting the computer and provides a manager for listing, searching and archiving notes.

YappyNotes supports Markdown formatting, checklists, due dates, links, bold and italic text, along with countdown and count-up timers that can continue across application restarts.

The application also runs from the system tray, supports keyboard shortcuts, includes automatic update checking for installed copies, and provides packaging for Linux, Windows and macOS. YappyNotes is built with C#/.NET 10 and Avalonia UI and is released under the MIT license.
